Kylie Alexander: designer, artist and comedian.
This past spring, Art*Throb had the privilege of hosting Kylie Alexander as a design intern. A graphic designer in training, Kylie is a Endicott student, fine artist, and, yes, a stand-up comedian. You may recognize her work from her contributions to our print magazine. For example, she worked hard to help us produce last November’s cover.
Kylie also keeps busy as collage artist. She has shown her work at local galleries, such as 17 Cox.
Kylie is not the first designer to have her foot planted in the world of fine art, but designer/stand-up comedian? That caught our attention. A petite young lady with a sweet smile, her Sarah-Silverman-like routine further reveals her penchant for boundary breaking.
With a high-pitched voice and a child-like appearance, she disarms her audience with a set that is anything but demur or shy. To catch a snippet of her blue routine, check out the link below.
Better yet, go to see her live. You can find her on the stage of Cinema Salem this Thursday, February 21st. She and her partner in crime Mark Gallagher will be hosting. For details and to get your ticket, go to Kylie + Mark’s Comedy Throw-Up @ Cinema Salem.
