A Magical Evening of Music and Mermaids

The Salem Theatre Company Second Stage takes on stories and music of the sea during a special event with Marblehead writer David Roper and local musicians Daisy Nell and Captain Stan on Tuesday and Wednesday, December 4 & 5 at 7:30 p.m. A Magical Evening of Music and Mermaids combines stories from Mr. Roper’s Boston Globe bestselling memoir Watching for Mermaids with sea shanties performed by one of the North Shore’s favorite maritime music duos.

Holiday House Tour

Join a spectacular holiday excursion through Newburyport’s historic roots and unique private residences. Beginning at the Custom House Maritime Museum, the tour features a view of Joppa framed by waterfront homes and includes Federalist traditions throughout the South End. The tour continues along historic High Street with its graceful sea captain’s mansions and ends with a stop at a dazzling townhouse overlooking Brown’s Square. These festively decorated homes represent four centuries of Newburyport’s history while reflecting each homeowner’s unique holiday style. Come and experience a day of holiday magic!
